VP Octanium® Octane Booster – For Racing Use

VP Octanium® Octane Booster – For Racing Use

Required amount of Octanium® booster: 768 ml

📘 Instructions

  • Fuel amount: Enter the amount of gasoline in liters.
  • Target increase: Choose the desired octane increase, e.g., +2, +5, or +8 Oct.
  • Result: The calculator estimates the required amount of Octanium® in milliliters.
  • Emissions systems: This product is designed for engines without a catalytic converter or O₂ sensor (emissions control devices).
  • Note on limited use: According to the manufacturer, a low dose (+1–+4 Oct) may be compatible with catalytic converters and O₂ sensors, but use is at your own risk. We recommend the Octanium Unleaded version as the first choice in such cases.

🧪 Why the effect isn’t linear

VP Octanium® does not increase octane in a perfectly linear fashion as dosage increases. For example:

  • +1 Oct requires 2.0 oz / 10 gal
  • +2 Oct requires 4.4 oz / 10 gal
  • +5 Oct requires 16.5 oz / 10 gal
  • +8 Oct requires 32.0 oz / 10 gal

That’s why the calculator uses a lookup table rather than a simple formula.

📚 FAQ

🔧 Question✅ Answer
Can I use it with a catalytic converter or O₂ sensor? Octanium is intended for engines without emissions control devices. The manufacturer notes that a low dose (+1–+4 Oct) may be compatible, but use is at your own risk. In such cases, we recommend Unleaded.
How long does it last? In its original, unopened packaging, VP Octanium lasts up to 5 years under proper storage conditions.
How much octane does it add? One bottle (32 oz) can raise up to +8 Oct in about 38 liters. For example, +5 Oct requires about 16.5 oz / 10 gal.
Can I use it in a 2-stroke engine (e.g., snowmobile)? Yes, if the engine has no emissions control devices. Otherwise, use Unleaded, or limit dosage to +1–+4 Oct at your own risk.

Note: VP Octanium® is designed for racing use and older engines without emissions systems. Follow the dosage chart and avoid overdosing.
