Laukkanen Motorsport began as a racing team at the turn of the 2000s, when a passion for cars and speed led to the first competitions. In the early years, the team’s lineup included a classic Beetle and several BMW models, raced actively in domestic and international events.
In 2012, the team moved into the Pro Modified class with the arrival of a Mustang—an era-defining car in terms of performance and visibility. The Mustang competed across Europe from 2012 to 2017, bringing multiple race wins and European terminal speed records that made Laukkanen Motorsport a recognized name in drag racing circles. The car was driven by, among others, Laura Saksa during the 2016–2017 seasons, with the team deeply involved in the international racing scene.
In 2017, the team acquired a new Camaro Pro Mod project from Janis, but the car was not completed to race-ready status. The racing career concluded in 2023 when driver Tero Laukkanen had to step back due to illness. The decision was difficult but made with dignity—grateful for years of achievements and community support.
In 2017, a company was founded alongside the team, focusing on importing and selling specialty motorsport parts. Racing experience brought deep technical understanding directly into customer service and product selection. In 2018, the company acquired the Racers Place business, expanding operations further—combining Racers Place’s heritage with Laukkanen Motorsport’s technical expertise.
Today, Laukkanen Motorsport is a strong parts operator serving customers across Finland and Europe. The selection covers engines, transmissions, suspension components, and fitment solutions—especially for American platforms. The company is known for uncompromising quality, honest service, and the ability to solve technically demanding challenges.
The world of motorsport and enthusiast vehicles is vast—and so is the offering. Over the years, the number of specialty parts has grown so large that stocking everything is impossible, not only in Finland but across Europe. We recognize this reality and build our operations around it: our inventory holds a small, carefully selected core assortment. The rest is fulfilled via special orders from a catalog of over 100 000 products covering engines, transmissions, suspensions, and more.
This model is not a compromise—it’s a strength. It enables customer-centric, flexible, and technically deep service, where every part is delivered purposefully and with expertise. We are proud to offer such a wide selection without unnecessary inventory or sunk costs, while remaining humble about how diverse and demanding this field is. Our job is to make it understandable and accessible—one part, one project, and one solution at a time.
